Thanks to Scott Dunlop at the Carleton Place Farmers Market, for this flyer and all his great information. Its thanks to his beekeeping, along with all the other members of the “Lanark County Beekeepers’ Association” and “Eastern Ontario Beekeepers’ Association” for all their efforts.

As can be seen by the many different varieties of honey that Scott has collected. Come check out his stand, Dunlop Honey at the market, they also have honeycombs, and fresh bread to go with it!!

The Radical Homemakers are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity to learn more and engage with our local experts on bees.

As previous beekeepers, sadly we lost ours to bears a few years ago, we have decided to clean out the hives, and retry. This time we have electrical fencing, so hopefully the bears will have a harder time.

Further motivation to help our pollinators, and wild bees as well, after further reading the National Post article re: Saving our Bees https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canada-has-no-standardized-method-for-tracking-native-bee-species-until-its-too-late-researchers-say
